Introduction

With the acquisition of Webtide LLC, Intalio is proud to offer you distributions and services of the popular server and communications components Jetty and CometD, and Hightide, the versioned distribution of Jetty that includes a comprehensive toolset for the development of scalable, state-of-the-art web 2.0 applications.

Jetty, an HTTP server and client, and servlet container was initially created through the Mortbay.org project site, and now additionally within the Eclipse Foundation Runtime project. Jetty's main developers are employed by Intalio.

CometD is a popular messaging system developed with the Dojo Foundation. It helps bring rich user interfaces and real time events to applications across the internet. Intalio's developers, by way of the aforementioned Webtide acquisition, helped draft the specification, and implemented the Java reference implementation of the Bayeux Protocol standard, which forms CometD's basis.

Hightide is an open source, versioned distribution of Jetty providing a comprehensive toolset for the development of scalable, state-of-the-art web 2.0 applications. It is optimized for Ajax support and also ships with some popular Ajax libraries that are integrated into the Ajax features of Jetty. Implementations of Java EE-related services, such as JNDI, JTA, JMS, JAAS and JDBC are pre-integrated and ready to go.
